The Pinkhams have again this year graciously offered their lovely gardens for the last General Meeting of the membership year. This is a potluck picnic with each member bringing a dish to share. The guild will provide the main dish!
The annual picnic is always a great time to socialize and a rare opportunity to photograph your artwork in an amazing setting. Bring your artwork, bring your camera, bring a dish, bring a chair!

Glass Studio Visiting Artists: Brynhildur Thorgeirsdóttir
Join other VGG members on April 26, for a reception and lecture from 6–8 p.m. offered by the Chrysler Glass Studio. Evening with the Artist to RSVP for event. Cost $10-$25.

Icelandic artist Brynhildur Thorgeirsdóttir creates rugged sculptures inspired by Iceland's mountainous terrain. Learn from her expertise and watch her work during the Visiting Artist Series.
Thorgeirsdóttir will work live at the Studio April 27–29 from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 2:30–5 p.m.
All events are free and open to the public.

The Empty Bowls fundraiser benefits the Food Bank of Hampton Roads. All Guild Members are encouraged to create at least one bowl to donate to this great cause. Last year the guild donated almost 50 bowls!

If you are in Richmond and looking for something to do, join us for a special tour given by Mrs. Jordan Brown or Sabrina Cordovana.
VGG will hold a short members meeting at 11:15 and then take a tour of the site.
Also, any artwork can be drop off for the 2018 Members Exhibition. Although, we will not be able to do a fusing Workshop to benefit the Empty Bowls fundraising event, you may drop off your bowls to Jude and we will pick them up at a later date.

Donation Raffle EventWe held a surprise raffle event through December to raise money for the upcoming Guild year. Thank you to everyone who participated!
This week we have a lovely purple stained glass panel by Kathy Wooldridge, and a flame-worked bead necklace by Lisa Mosser. Next week we'll have new items to raffle off! The rules are simple! Any donation made between now and saturday the 16th is entered to win. Each dollar you donate to VGG gets you one ticket, with no caps on tickets. So if you give a $25 donation, you have 25 chances to win! You can get tickets in person at For All Handkind in Selden Market, or donate via paypal below! |

Jutta-Annette Page is the Executive Director of the Barry Art Museum, in Norfolk, VA. She holds a Ph.D and MA in the history of art and architecture from Brown University, an MAE in jewelry, metalsmithing, and industrial design from Rhode Island School of Design, and an MA and BA in visual communication and art from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in Germany. She was the Curator of European Glass at The Corning Museum of Glass from 1993 to 2003, and served as the Curator of Glass and Curator of the Decorative Arts at the Toledo Museum of Art from 2003-2016. A respected author in her field, Dr. Page has completed numerous publications and lectured extensively on a broad range of topics. During the 45th Annual Glass Art Society Conference, she was presented with the Honorary Lifetime Membership Award. She served for ten years on the GAS Board, including as president.
